Part-time Web Site Editor for Gay Page of Visit Houston.com This position will create and maintain all content on www.VisitHoustonTexas.com and will provide updates to the translator of www.VisitaHoustonTexas.com. The Web Site editor will maintain all listings and photos for all sections of the site and will create feature stories specific to each portal—visitors, members, meeting planners and travel trade. These feature stories will be repurposed for the media room, for social media and in printed collateral, when appropriate.
Responsibilities: • Create and maintain all copy on www.VisitHoustonTexas.com • Coordinate with the translator of www.VisitaHoustonTexas.com on all English updates so they can be translated into Spanish • Be informed of all openings and closings of Houston businesses, and update the Web site accordingly • Generate ideas for feature stories that are relevant to each portal on the site • Maintain and/or add photos on the site
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field • Minimum of five years experiences as a reporter or editor • Must have experience working with dedicated sales staff
